This "Kanaguya" Hotel in Nagano was the actual hotel that the famous director Hayao Miyazaki took his inspiration for the big hot bath hotel in the film Spirited Away (Senn to Chihiro)

From left: My grandma, myself and Jessica infront of the "Kanaguya" hotel entrance

From left: Grandma, me and Jessica infront of the actual hotel

Above: One of the many baths in the hotel... in total they had 8 baths.... and there were more out in the alley way....those public baths you can share? There were 12 of them I think
31st: Packing and getting ready for my week of camping
August
1st - 7th: YMCA Nojiri Kitsutski Camp
YMCA camp is a camping organisation I`ve been attending the past 4 years and is quite the highlight for my summer holiday. The experience and friends I make there are just unforgettable and a thing for life.

Above: A picture of my whole group and the boys group and one other random person......

Back row from left: Shibako, Akira and Nanako
Front row from left: Kitchen, Riyo, Rie, me and Gouchann all planning the bonfire night programme late one night

Above: A shot with the fun and cool Torai and 3 other younger girls who I actually don`t even know that well....

From left: A picture of my group.... Nanako, Ecchan, Otaka (our group leader), Riyo, Rie and Shibako having our last dinner at the camp site

8th: Roppongi Hills with Satsuki
Satsuki was a classmate of mine from beloved JIS when I joined 12 years ago. Being so young when I left I never had contact with him but managed to find his contact through other old friends from JIS and I met him this summer. Was weird as we hadn`t seen each other in like 9 years!!
He took me out for lunch at this REALLY nice restaurant in Shibuya which I never knew existed and we went to Roppongi Hills then chilled out at a cafe just talking about old times and catching up on 9 years I suppose.

Above: A very beautiful view from the observatory at Roppongi Hills
9th: Shopping with Ayumi at Ikebukuro
10th: YMCA Nojiri Fukurou Camp (CIT)`s meeting with the director Mr.Sato
11th: Yoyogi Park with people fom the YMCA Nojiri Kitsutski Camp
Too hard to forget the fun and excitement we all shared togather at our week in Nojiri at the beginning of the month my two friends Riyo and Nanako organised an outing at Yoyogi park just for everyone to hang out and have fun. Feeling slightly guilty I did nothing to help to organise the event I decided to be the entertainer for the whole day (10am till 10pm)suggesting games and things to do, buying enough refreshments and just making sure everyone was having a good time.

Above: A picture of all the people that were left around 7pm before we headed of to have dinner at a restaurant

Above: This time a picture with me in it...

Above: My friend Haruchan being silly with my frisbee.....very silly

From left: Haruchan, Denn and Saki at the restaurant we went for dinner after Yoyogi park
12th: BST Renunion
Since we actually hadn`t had any official BST renunions since the one at Kourakuenn like 2 years ago I thought I would organise one. Location wise we were thinking of Futako Tamagawa so we can do fireworks and just catch up with each other.....all was going well with everyone arriving at Shibuya (our meeting place) and most girls wearing yukatas (traditional cotton kimono for the summer season) and looking so gorgeous but then....it rained. Ah well, I just hope everyone still had fun because I did.

Above: A picture of Arisa and me at my grandma`s place where we got ready for the night

Above: A shot of Kanako and me. It was really nice to see hear again because we hadn`t seen each other since I left BST like 5 or 6 years ago

From left: Andrew and Shan, a very nice smiley shot of them too

From left: Adrian, Fumiyo and Kento, awww such a nice pic

The boys rom left: Adrian and Andy
The girsl from left: Rika and Arisa

From left: Sera, Arisa, Emmy, Elena and Katie all quite drenched from the rain

From left: Rika, me, Fumiyo, Kanako and Arisa, us girls wearing yukatas

Above: Another shot of Arisa and me

Above: A group photo of everyone (Adrian, Andy, Andrew, Arisa, Fumiyo, Kanako, Kento, Rika, Sera, Shan and me) thank you to all of you guys for actually coming and also to Emmy, Elena and Katie who left a bit earlier
13th: Date with Haruchan at the Tokyo Bay Firework Display
It`s weird how Haruchan is actually a "senpai" from the YMCA camp but I have never been camping with him and that we just know each other so well through loads of other people from the YMCA. Still, it was nice of him to ask me to go with him to the Tokyo Bay Firework Display because I had such a good time and hadn`t been to a big firework display in ages.

Above: A shot from the event

Above: A picture of Rainbow Bridge when Haruchann and I took the water boat taxi to the otherside of the shore once the fireworks had ended
14th: Guriko Group Renunion
Guriko Group is a group I went camping with 2 years ago and us 5 girls, our group leader and one of the camp site resident assitant all got along really well like one big family that we meet up every year when I come back to Japan. Seriously one big family....

From left: Kurara, me and Saori. Saori is my bestest best friend in Japan and is my little angel who I love to bits!! She was at the YMCA Nojiri Kitsutsuki Camp with me but unfortunately in a different group

From left: My cute Saori and Ari

Front row from left: Ari, Guriko and Kurara Back row from left: Saori, me, Mai and Q.....yeah I know, the poor old lady who took the picture for us had obviously never used a digital camera and cut Q`s head off and also didn`t quite tell us when she pressed the shutter down so we all don`t really looked prepared for the pic.

Above: Q, a better shot off him than the previous pic.
15th - 18th: Lake Kawaguchi Trip with ex-BST friends
Since our trip last year to Hakone for 2 nights and 3 days was so successful we decided to do another trip. This time we went to Lake Kawaguchi for 3 nights and 4 days and the memeber was Andrew, Reo, Shan, Yuri, Fumiyo and myself.....one of last years old member Adrian couldn`t make it which was a pity but thanx for still coming to Shinjuku and sending us off properly.

From left: Fumiyo, Shan and Andrew looking very happy as we arrived at Lake Kawaguchi and decided to look around the place

From left: Fumiyo, Reo and Yuri also looking very happy but this time with the finished postcards and bookmarker they made of pressed flowers at a work shop in this Herb House we found near the lake

From left: Shan and Fumiyo enjoying their ice cream....

And so is Andrew....

Above: The best shot I got of Mt. Fuji during the whole trip

Above: The boys pose infront of Lake Kawaguchi

Above: Fumiyo and me infront of Lake Kawaguchi too....

Above: Shot of Lake Kawaguchi and it`s only bridge

Above: For the evening we had a ever so serious game of scrabble.....so cool we are. You can actually see Andrews level of concentration and Fumiyo and my level of intelligence with just a 5 letter word of "voice" at least we have a "v" in it I suppose, lol
The Blueberry Jam Story....
Next day we went to a place where we can make blueberry jam and this is what the PHOTO`S show us that happened......

Yuri and Fumiyo concentrating on mixing their lovely jam....

So is Andrew and Reo...... BUT.....

Shan....what ARE you doing??

No..... I didn`t think you knew......

Anyway, atleast someones got the jam done.....

And Fumiyo is VERY happy....yum, yum, yum!

From left: Shan and Andrew sharing a special moment together... a VERY special moment

Fumiyo`s choice of fried noodles (yakisoba) is always a good choice but....

Shan`s crushed ice with syrup (kakigouri) is always better

Above: Fireworks for the evening (thanx to Reo, Yuri and Andrew for burning their fingers to light the damned things)

From left: Fumiyo and Shan content with the fireworks in progress

Above: The next day we decided to go walking up a few mountains and this lovely pathway was one of our routes to the top

Above: Fumiyo and Reo (and technically me) trying our best to catch up with Andrew and Shan who have shooted off ahead

Above: Would say a group photo but as you can see Yuri is missing. We had a bit of a drinking session last night and lets say he didn`t exactly wake up feeling too good

Above: Everyone quite content after having their lunch

Above: We decided to take the cable car down the mountain which had the best view of Lake Kawaguchi

Above: I know, were addicted to fireworks.....so, more fireworks that night

And more....
So, the next day, our last day we decided to go out on the actual Lake Kawaguchi with the rental row boats and we did paper scissors stone to pair off and it ended up quite odd.....

Above: Reo and Fumiyo, even from the distance I could see that Fumiyo was doing no rowing at all...poor Reo

Above: Shan and Yuri looking at....well, something

Above: And of course my fellow companion Andrew looking absolutely dashing

Above: And me!!

Above: Poor Shan can only express his feelings towards Fumiyo behind her back...

And so takes out his sorrows and stress by yelling at his food.....
Thanx to all you guys who made the Lake Kawaguchi Trip so fun! Here`s a bit of a artistic shot of Shans` guitar to remind you of the good times

19th: YMCA Nojiri Fukurou Camp - CIT Meeting
CIT is a programme the YMCA set up for 17 & 18 year olds to be trained to become group leaders and programme leaders. The training course takes place during the primary and secondary school childrens week of camping called YMCA Nojiri Fukurou Camp and us CIT people went to have a meeting about the upcoming week of camping.

From left: Gou, Ryu, Asuka and Ari all enjoying lunch at the very much loved Shakey`s at Takadanobaba
20th: Shopping with grandma
21st - 27th: YMCA Nojiri Fukurou Camp (CIT)
So after all the meetings and documents of what to and what not to do the last step before going was our camp names. Because we will be with younger children it is important that we have simple, easy names that they can remember easily so all group leaders, programme leaders, camp site resident assistance have camp names and as CIT`s we were told to have camp names and so we all sat down and thought of names for each other.
This side is their real name ~ This side is their camp name (it`s meaning)
Boys: Gou ~ Gouchann (Just a cute version of his name)
Hisashi ~ Ani (Means "brother" in Japanese)
Ryu ~ Piimann (Means "pepper" in Japanese)
Girls: Asuka ~ Hime (Means "princess" in Japanese)
Moe ~ Kuro (Means "black" in Japanese)
Yuri ~ Ari (Means "ant" in Japanese)
Rie ~ Hi-ho (Just taken from the song of Snow White)
Emi ~ Pyonn (The Japanese onomatopoeia for "hop" for a rabbit)

Above: Breakfast time for everyone...

Above: Ari serving out the CIT peoples breakfast onto our plates...yum

Above: And Ari also has a bit of a bad hair day...but still smiles

Above: On the other hand it seems my friend and currently a proud group leader, Tetsuya (camp name "Uzura" meaning "quail" in Japanese) woke up on the right side of his bed

Above: And morning exercise for everyone.....

From left: Me, Hime, Piiman, Kuro and Ari after preparing the wood for the bonfire later on in the night

Above: Everyone is close friends here...even when walking back to our cabin for a nap...

31st: Visited Rikkyou Universty again for more information my grandma and I couldn`t get the previous day and then chilled out with Tetsuya at Takadanobaba till dark and then because I was a bit down he bought some fireworks and took me to a near by park to light them up and tried cheering me up even though he was running late for a meeting, bless.
